Bucharest; 6th of June 2018
Georgia: 2018 has started in a positive note for Synergy Construct, with the kick-off of a new energy project in Svaneti Region (Georgia). The company has signed its first EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) Contract with Austrian Georgian Development LLC, for the execution of a 16 MW Hydro Power Plant in Svaneti Region-Georgia. The official signing ceremony for Lakhami HPP Project took place on the 5TH of JUNE 2018 in Tbilisi, Georgia.
Synergy is responsible of all civil works, penstock works, Hydro Mechanical Equipment Supply, finishing works, MEP works and roads.
Lakhami Hydro Power Plant 1 & 2 is the second ongoing project of the company in Georgia, together with the 50 MW Mestiachala Hydro Power Plant, built in Mestia.
“Taking over a new hydro power plant project is a great opportunity for us to further expand our expertise in executing energy & environment projects and a proof that we are a competitive, trusted contractor in this country as well. Georgia is one of the top countries in the world by the water resources per capita. 300 rivers out of a total of 26,000 in Georgia are significant for the electricity generation capacity, but currently, only 20% of the hydro potential is used, which means that there is still a lot of room for such projects and we feel motivated by this development potential.” said Mr. Gokhan Karabekiroglu- Country Manager Synergy Construct Georgia.
Synergy’s work history in Georgia
Synergy has had a long history in executing projects in Georgia. In 2017 Synergy took over the civil contracting works for the challenging hydro power plant project Mestiachala 1 & 2 Hydro Power Plant, including 2 units with a total capacity of 50 MW.
The Lakhami Project is the 3rd Hydro Power Plant Project in Georgia, after Akhmeta 10 MW and Mestia 50 MW, and the 5th Energy Plant counting also Akhaltsikhe HVDC Substation and Gardabani CCPP Plant where Synergy contracted Civil Works.
Last year the company also delivered a 25,000 sqm mineral water and natural juice production facility in Nabeghlavi: Nabeghlavi Healthy Water-Rauch Factory.
Another remarkable project is the completion of a 300,000 HVDC substation project in Akhaltsikhe, for Siemens. Synergy also completed industrial projects in Georgia, among which Gebruder Weiss Logistic Center and McDonalds Logistic Center, both located in Tbilisi.
