Synergy is performing the civil contracting works including penstock works for this challenging hydropower plants project, including two units with a total capacity of 50 MW. The two plants are being developed by the Svaneti Hydro joint venture, held by Renewable Energy Co. and RP Global Investment. Mestiachala 1 & 2 Hydropower Plants will increase the country’s power generation capacity and the annual generated power capacity will be of 175 million KW/ hour.
Georgia is rich in hydropower resources and at the top of the Georgian government’s energy security agenda is the full-scale development of these resources. By gradually replacing electricity imports and increasing its export potential, the country could be turned into a regional hub for clean energy production and trade. The construction of Mestiachala 1 & 2 Hydropower Plants is one step towards Georgia’s energy independence. Moreover the project has created new employment opportunities in the area, as locals will be employed at the construction site. “Today is an important day for us, as we are celebrating the kick off of an important project for the country’s hydropower generation capacity. We are happy and proud to be part of this project, our team including 300 people is fully committed to the project and we look forward to all the challenges ahead of us. The earthworks have just started and the mobilization stage is almost completed. The power plants are expected to become operational at the end of 2018.” said Mr. Gokhan Karabekiroglu, Country Manager of Synergy Construct Georgia.

SYNERGY presence in Georgia
This is not the first project built by SYNERGY in Georgia. The good reputation that the company has managed to develop here has brought new projects to its portfolio. SYNERGY is now working on three projects in Tbilisi, Mestia and Nabeghlavi.
Hilton Garden Inn – Tbilisi
The company is general contractor with structural works for an upscale mixed- use complex comprising a 14 floor hotel, a 19 floor residential building, a restaurant and a spa center: Hilton Garden Inn (Tbilisi).
