Our Code of Conduct sets out Synergy Construction Hungary Kft.’s expectations for responsible business conduct, respect for people, safe and healthy working conditions, environmental responsibility, ethical behaviour, and compliance with legal and contractual requirements. It applies to employees, managers, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, agents and other business partners acting for or on behalf of Synergy.


I. Labour and human rights

Synergy Construction Hungary Kft. is committed to respecting internationally recognised human rights and creating a working environment based on dignity, fairness, safety and equal opportunity. We expect the same commitment from our subcontractors, suppliers and business partners.

Equal opportunity and non-discrimination 
Synergy provides equal employment opportunities and maintains a workplace free from discrimination and retaliation. Employment-related decisions are based on merit, competence, performance and job-related factors. Discrimination based on race, colour, religion, sex, age, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, pregnancy, medical condition, citizenship, marital status, military service, trade union activity, or any legally protected status is not tolerated.

Fair labour, child labour and young workers
Synergy does not tolerate child labour. Young workers may only be employed in accordance with applicable legal requirements, including restrictions related to age, working hours, type of work, health and safety protection, and training. Synergy expects subcontractors and suppliers to apply the same requirements.

Modern slavery, forced labour and human trafficking
Synergy prohibits forced labour, bonded labour, servitude, compulsory labour, prison labour not compliant with law, human trafficking and all forms of modern slavery. Workers must be free to leave employment in accordance with applicable law and contractual terms. Identity documents, passports or personal documents must not be retained unlawfully.

Ethical recruitment
Recruitment must be fair, transparent and compliant with applicable laws. Workers must not be charged recruitment fees or costs that should legally be borne by the employer or recruitment agency. Employment terms should be communicated in a language and manner understood by the worker, especially where workers are recruited from another country.

Wages, hours of work and benefits   
Synergy follows applicable wage, social security, tax, working time, rest period, overtime and benefit requirements. Employees must not be required to work beyond legal working hour limits, and overtime must be compensated in accordance with applicable law and employment conditions.

Harassment, fair treatment and discrimination  
Synergy does not allow harassment, intimidation, bullying, violence, threats, degrading treatment, sexual harassment, verbal abuse or physical abuse. All persons working on Synergy sites and in Synergy offices must treat each other with dignity and respect.

Freedom of association and collective bargaining
Synergy respects the right of workers to freedom of association and collective bargaining where applicable by law. Workers may join or form trade unions or workers’ representative bodies of their choice, and Synergy will not interfere with, obstruct or discriminate against lawful worker representation.

Women’s rights, diversity, equity and inclusion
Synergy supports equal treatment and equal opportunities for women and men. We promote diversity, equity and inclusion and aim to create a workplace where different backgrounds, nationalities, cultures and experiences are respected. Pregnancy, maternity, family status or caregiving responsibilities must not be used as grounds for discrimination.

Rights of minorities, vulnerable groups and indigenous peoples
Synergy respects the rights of minorities, vulnerable groups and, where applicable, indigenous peoples. In our projects and supply chain, we expect lawful and respectful conduct towards communities and affected stakeholders.

Land, forest and water rights and forced eviction
Synergy respects legitimate land, forest and water rights. We do not support forced eviction or unlawful land access. Where our activities may affect land access, water use, local communities or neighbouring properties, such impacts must be managed lawfully and responsibly, in cooperation with clients, authorities and affected stakeholders.

Use of private or public security forces
Where private or public security forces are used in connection with Synergy activities or construction sites, they must act lawfully, proportionately and with respect for human rights. Security arrangements must not be used to intimidate, harass, unlawfully restrict movement, or violate the rights of employees, subcontractors, local communities or other stakeholders.

External stakeholders and human rights
We are committed to respecting and promoting human rights throughout our value chain and in interactions with suppliers, subcontractors, customers, partners, local communities and other parties affected by our operations.


II. Environmental, social and governance

Synergy embraces environmental sustainability as a core leadership value. For Synergy, environmental sustainability means providing safe, reliable and responsible services in a socially and environmentally responsible manner.

Compliance with environmental legal requirements  
Synergy complies with applicable environmental laws, permits, standards, client requirements and contractual obligations. Environmental aspects and impacts are managed through operational controls, monitoring, audits, corrective actions and management review.

Energy efficiency, greenhouse gas emissions and decarbonisation
Synergy promotes energy efficiency in its operations, including efficient use of equipment, reduction of unnecessary fuel and electricity consumption, and adoption of practical energy-saving measures. Synergy monitors and seeks to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and carbon intensity where data is available and where reduction measures are technically and commercially feasible. Renewable energy is considered where available, suitable and economically reasonable.

Resource efficiency, water and responsible chemical management
Synergy promotes business practices that conserve natural resources, reduce hazardous substances, manage chemicals responsibly, reduce air emissions, protect water quality, reduce water consumption and prevent soil contamination. Chemicals and hazardous materials must be stored, handled, used and disposed of safely and in compliance with applicable requirements.

Waste reduction, reuse and recycling
Synergy applies waste prevention, reuse, recycling and responsible disposal principles wherever possible. Construction, packaging, office and hazardous waste must be managed in accordance with applicable legal and project requirements.

Biodiversity, land use, animal welfare and noise
Synergy aims to reduce adverse impacts on biodiversity, habitats, soil and land use where relevant to its construction activities. We seek to prevent deforestation and unnecessary ecological disturbance. Animal welfare is considered where site activities, procurement or supply chain impacts may be relevant. Construction noise must be planned, controlled and reduced where reasonably practicable.

Responsible sourcing of materials and procurement activities
Synergy is committed to ethical and responsible procurement methods for products, materials and services. Suppliers and subcontractors are expected to comply with legal, labour, human rights, environmental, health and safety and business ethics requirements. They are also expected to apply similar standards to their own relevant suppliers and subcontractors where applicable.


III. Health and safety

Synergy is committed to providing a safe, healthy and secure work environment. Synergy ensures that its products and services meet relevant health and safety standards and takes measures to minimise risks to employees, subcontractors, customers and stakeholders.

Occupational safety and health 
Synergy follows safety rules and procedures in all work locations. Synergy oversees safe and healthy practices and ensures that employees receive information and training relevant to their work. Site risks, including work at height, lifting operations, traffic management, machinery, electrical works, excavation, confined spaces, chemicals, fire risks and emergency situations, must be controlled through planning, supervision and monitoring.

Psychosocial wellbeing
Synergy recognises that health and safety also include mental and psychological wellbeing. We support respectful communication, reasonable workload management and reporting of concerns related to stress, fatigue, harassment or unsafe working conditions.


IV. Diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging

Synergy is committed to promoting an inclusive working environment and fair access to opportunities. We recognise that diversity among employees, subcontractors and suppliers brings a variety of perspectives and supports responsible business performance.

Supplier diversity 
Synergy aims to provide fair and transparent access to subcontracting and supplier opportunities, consistent with technical, commercial, quality, safety, legal and contractual requirements.


V. Ethics and compliance

Synergy is committed to complying with applicable laws, regulations, industry standards and contractual requirements. Synergy takes allegations of ethics and compliance violations seriously and conducts appropriate reviews or investigations.

Business integrity 
Synergy acts honestly and ethically in business transactions. Manipulation, concealment, abuse of confidential information, misrepresentation of material facts, unfair dealing or improper influence are not allowed.

Conflict of Interest
Employees and business partners must act in the best interest of Synergy and avoid situations where personal interests conflict, or appear to conflict, with professional duties. Actual or potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed to management or the appropriate compliance channel.

Anti-corruption and anti-bribery
Synergy has zero tolerance for corruption, bribery, extortion, facilitation payments or embezzlement in any form. Offering, giving, soliciting or accepting bribes or improper advantages, directly or through third parties, is prohibited. Employees and business partners must conduct business transparently and in compliance with applicable anti-corruption and anti-bribery laws.

Anti-money laundering
Synergy does not tolerate money laundering or activities that may facilitate it. Employees and business partners must comply with applicable anti-money laundering laws and internal procedures and act with transparency, integrity and due diligence in financial transactions and business relationships.

Financial responsibility and accurate records
Synergy requires accurate, complete and transparent business, financial, accounting, tax, payroll, working time, inspection, quality, HSE, procurement and project records. False, misleading, incomplete or manipulated records, certificates, invoices, timesheets, permits, inspection reports, material documents or test results are prohibited.

Disclosure of information
Synergy provides business information accurately and responsibly where disclosure is required by law, contract, client requirement, authority request or internal governance. Confidential, personal, commercial or legally protected information must not be disclosed without proper authorisation.

Fair competition and anti-trust
Synergy supports fair competition and complies with applicable competition and anti-trust laws. Agreements or practices that improperly restrict competition, including price fixing, bid rigging, market allocation, exchange of sensitive competitor information or abuse of market position, are prohibited.

Counterfeit parts, materials, documents and certificates
Synergy does not tolerate counterfeit, falsified or unauthorised materials, parts, products, documents, certificates, test reports or conformity records. Materials and documentation used in projects must be traceable, verified where required, and compliant with applicable technical, contractual and legal requirements.

Intellectual property
Synergy respects intellectual property rights, including copyrights, trademarks, patents, designs, software, technical documents, drawings and confidential know-how. Employees and business partners must use third-party intellectual property only with proper authorisation and must protect Synergy’s intellectual property and confidential information.

Export controls and economic sanctions
Synergy complies with applicable export control, import, customs and economic sanctions requirements. Employees involved in international business, procurement, logistics or project execution must avoid transactions with restricted parties or prohibited destinations and must seek guidance where restrictions may apply.

Fraud
Synergy maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards fraud. Suspected or actual fraud must be reported promptly and will be reviewed or investigated.

Gifts and gratuities
Synergy competes for work based on merit and performance, not on the exchange of gifts or entertainment. Gifts, hospitality or benefits must not influence, or appear to influence, business decisions and must comply with applicable rules.

Privacy, information security and data ethics
Synergy protects customer, employee and third-party personal data and confidential information. Information systems must be protected from unauthorised access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification or destruction. Data must be collected, used, stored and shared lawfully, fairly, transparently and only for legitimate business purposes.

IT security and cyber protection
Employees and partners must follow IT security requirements, including secure access management, use of authorised systems, prompt reporting of suspicious activity and participation in security awareness training where required.

Ethical expectations for third parties
Suppliers, subcontractors, consultants, agents and other third parties acting for or on behalf of Synergy must comply with applicable laws and with Synergy’s ethical, labour, human rights, environmental, health and safety and compliance expectations. Improper advantage, unethical conduct and concealment of violations are not tolerated.


VI. Reporting, grievance and non-retaliation

Management systems   
Any person who suspects non-compliance with this Code of Conduct, legal requirements or Synergy policies should report the concern to management or through the whistleblowing channel: whistleblower@syncons.hu

Reports may relate to human rights, labour conditions, health and safety, environmental concerns, unethical business practices, fraud, corruption, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, data protection or other compliance concerns.

Synergy handles reports confidentially to the extent possible and does not tolerate retaliation against any employee, subcontractor, supplier or stakeholder who raises a concern in good faith. Reported concerns are reviewed, and where needed, corrective actions are defined and followed up.

VI. Management system and implementation

Synergy implements this Code of Conduct through management responsibility, employee communication, training where applicable, risk assessment, internal controls, supplier and subcontractor expectations, grievance and whistleblowing channels, review of reported concerns, corrective actions and periodic review.

Managers are responsible for promoting this Code within their areas of responsibility. Employees and relevant business partners are expected to understand and follow the requirements applicable to their work.

This Code of Conduct is distributed as required and made available to interested parties.
