Our Commitments

Quality:

Our projects are carried out by competent engineering teams, with verified materials, reliable equipment, and supervised subcontractors. Through the implementation, maintenance and continuous development of the IMS, we ensure consistent and traceable quality. We monitor stakeholder expectations, evaluate the performance of suppliers and subcontractors, regularly audit our processes, and implement corrective or preventive measures as necessary. The IMS is operated in line with the company’s strategic direction, ensuring that our construction sites are equipped with appropriate and reliable tools.

Environmental protection and energy efficiency:

We continuously reduce the environmental impacts of our activities and prevent environmental and material damage. We place particular emphasis on pollution prevention, energy efficiency, safe materials, waste prevention, responsible water management, and the protection of surface water, groundwater, soil, air, biodiversity and ecosystems.

We monitor and, where technically and commercially feasible, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and carbon intensity related to our operations, projects, transport, energy use, procurement and subcontracted activities. We support decarbonization through improved energy efficiency, efficient planning, responsible use of equipment, reduction of unnecessary consumption, and increased consideration of renewable energy where available and suitable for our activities.

We strive to prevent waste generation, optimize material use, promote reuse and recycling, and apply circular economy principles where feasible. We aim to reduce hazardous substances, ensure safe handling, storage and disposal of chemicals, and prevent pollution of air, water and soil. We are committed to responsible water management, including reducing water consumption, protecting water quality, and preventing contamination of surface water and groundwater.

We take responsibility for local environmental and ecological values by protecting habitats, reducing the ecological impacts of construction activities, preventing deforestation and adverse land-use impacts where relevant, and considering animal welfare where our site activities, procurement or supply chain may have such impacts. We also manage construction-related noise emissions through planning, monitoring and operational controls where applicable.

Environmental aspects, impacts, risks, opportunities, legal obligations, objectives, monitoring indicators, operational controls, emergency preparedness, audits, corrective actions and management review are managed through the IMS and the ISO 14001 framework.

Occupational health & safety:

We address the specific occupational risks of the construction industry and are committed to preventing accidents, personal injuries and health damage. We prioritize the safety and health of our employees and subcontractors’ workers by creating safe workplaces, supported by regular training, active consultation and continuous monitoring.

Beyond physical safety, we support the mental and psychological wellbeing of employees. We pay attention to preventing stress, overload and psychosocial risks, and ensure open communication and employee involvement in matters affecting them. Through regular review of the working environment, processes and risks, we support healthy, safe and respectful working conditions for everyone.

Human rights and fair working conditions:

We respect internationally recognized human rights and require fair working conditions in accordance with applicable legal and contractual requirements. We prohibit forced labour, modern slavery, servitude, compulsory labour, human trafficking, child labour and unlawful employment of young workers. We support fair working hours, wages and benefits, ethical recruitment, and prevention of recruitment fees charged to workers.

We are committed to equal treatment, non-discrimination, diversity, equity and inclusion. We respect women’s rights, the rights of minorities, vulnerable groups and, where applicable, indigenous peoples. We respect freedom of association and collective bargaining where applicable by law. We prohibit harassment, intimidation and retaliation. Where relevant to our activities, we respect land, forest and water rights, avoid forced eviction, and ensure that any use of private or public security forces is lawful, proportionate and respectful of human rights.

Risk management:

Risk management is a leadership responsibility, fully embedded in our organizational culture, processes and decision-making at all levels, from strategic planning to project and change management. By applying best practices, we identify and manage internal and external factors that may create uncertainty in achieving our objectives. Risk management objectives are defined at the organizational level and supported by targeted actions.

High-level risks, including ESG, human rights, environmental, health and safety, ethics, compliance, supplier, subcontractor and project-related risks, are escalated to management and managed through documented mitigation actions. Medium-level risks are assigned to specific responsibilities, while low-level risks are controlled through routine procedures. Our processes are documented at all levels, particularly decisions and actions, with risk registers maintained at corporate and project level. Our success is measured through audits, management reviews, monitoring of risk data and implementation of corrective actions. We strengthen our risk management system with ongoing training and development programs.

Supplier and subcontractor expectations:

Synergy expects suppliers, subcontractors and business partners to comply with applicable legal, ethical, environmental, health and safety, labor, human rights and sustainability requirements. These expectations are communicated through procurement documents, contracts, supplier requirements, supplier sustainability policies, supplier codes of conduct and project-specific requirements, as applicable.

To fulfil the commitments set out in this Policy, we establish measurable objectives in all areas where we have influence, and we develop action plans to support their achievement, which we actively monitor and evaluate.

All those working with or for Synergy Construction Hungary Kft. are required to contribute to the achievement of IMS objectives within the scope of their tasks and responsibilities.

To the best of our knowledge, we work to operate as a responsible manufacturer and service partner, as well as a responsible employer, running a clean, transparent, people-focused and sustainable business.

This policy applies to all our employees and partners and is publicly available to all interested parties.
