Nabeghlavi, Georgia: SYNERGY CONSTRUCT has recently added a new accomplishment to the company’s portfolio: the official opening of Nabeghlavi Healthy Water factory, located in Western Georgia, in Guria region. To celebrate the opening of the facility, SYNERGY hosted a large event attended by high officials such as the Prime Minister of Georgia- Mr. George Kvirikashvili, the Minister of Finance- Mr. Dimitri Qumsishvili and the Vice- Prime Minister and Minister of Energy- Mr. Kakha Kaladze. The President of Healthy Water (the beneficiary of the project) Mr. Mikheil Svimonishvili and the President of the Austrian beverage company Rauch, one of the investors in the project – Mr. Jurgen Rauch, the Ambassadors of Switzerland and Austria were also among the guests at the event.

The opening ceremony started with a session of speeches during which the speakers highlighted the importance of the investment for this area of Georgia and congratulated the investors and the general contractor for delivering the project in excellent conditions. Georgian Prime Minister, Mr. Giorgi Kvirikashvili, said that he was pleased that such a modern facility, using state-of-the art technology was built in Nabeghlavi and that the factory will use fruits grown in the 70 ha orchard behind the factory as raw material for juice production. Mr. Jurgen Rauch spoke about the high quality of the construction materials, technology and methods used by SYNERGY to complete the project. The factory was built to meet all Rauch standards, the company was involved in all the development stages and company representatives are now supervising the production process.

The guests were then invited to visit the factory and had the opportunity to find out more things about the production process, from the specialists.

The event continued with an evening cocktail where the guests were entertained by the exquisite performance of the Batumi Symphonic Orchestra, conducted by David Mukeria and the Batumi Choreographic Ensemble also performed traditional Georgian dances for the audience. One of the surprises of the evening was the violin solo performed by highly talented 13 year old Mariam Obolashvili.

THE PROJECT:

In 2013 the Georgian- Swiss joint venture Healthy Water that bottles the famous mineral water Nabeghlavi and the spring water Bakhmaro decided to extend their factory in Nabeghlavi. The purpose was to increase the fillings volume from 70 mil. fillings per year in 2010 to 140 mil. fillings per year and also to start producing famous Austrian Rauch soft drinks, juice, ice tea and energy drinks. The water bottled at Nabeghlavi factory will be exported to 28 countries worldwide, among which Canada, China, Cyprus, Germany, Greece, Israel, Italy, Turkey and Russia, while Rauch beverages will be exported to the Caucasus region.

In 2015 Synergy was appointed General Contractor- Design & Build for the project that includes a production facility, a warehouse, a hotel, offices, utility buildings (steam boiler, fire pump, waste water treatment plant, water borehole buildings, truck workshop, gatehouse, fuel tank, process tank farm, generator house, transformer house) and an external platform for truck parking. SYNERGY was involved in the project from the design stage and provided optimum solutions to incorporate the technical specifications of world- wide technology suppliers: Sweedish packing producer Tetrapack, German automatic bottling lines producer Krones and giant Turkish glass bottle producer Sisecam. The company also designed and built a 54 m long bridge over Nabeghlavi river, made of concrete in-situ piles, prefabricated beams and concrete and asphalt covering.

“Nabeghlavi was a challenging project, especially in terms of location, but it was a very rewarding project in terms of design. It was not easy to design a space able to fit such complex technology, but we worked closely with our partners Tetrapack, Krones and Sisecam and together we managed to find the best solutions for the project.” said Mr. Florin Lupu-Otelea Managing Partner of Optim Engineers, the partner of SYNERGY for design.

A total of 250 SYNERGY employees worked hard to deliver the construction works covering 25,000 sqm. The total value of the investment in the project was 40 mil. euro. The investors in the project were the companies Healthy Water, Rauch and Swiss Geo Capital.

“Starting from today we have a new reason to feel proud of our performance in Georgia, as we have successfully completed a new project. Nabeghlavi Healthy Water reflects all the hard work that we put in in the past two years. We delivered the project in several stages. Our client, Healthy Water started to install the production process equipment in the factory in June 2016 and began the production in March 2017. The hotel and the office building were handed over in February 2017.” said Mr. Gokhan Karabekiroglu, Country Manager Synergy Construct Georgia.
